FRUD, for its part, evokes a reaction in response to the attack by Djiboutian authorities.
Djiboutian authorities speak of an attack by the Front for the Restoration of Unity and Democracy (FRUD), while the FRUD retaliates. The authorities report 7 dead, 4 wounded, and 6 missing, all within the ranks of the army. On the night of Thursday October 6 to Friday October 7, at around 2 a.m., Djiboutian soldiers from the Tadjourah regiment (RIAT) were attacked in the military outpost of KARABTI SAN https://goo.gl/maps/9ogdQ6RXSXArAjQG8.
According to the FRUD military command, the Djiboutian army attacked Front fighters earlier in the afternoon, located at about fifteen kilometers away from the military camp. A report by the Front for the Restoration of Unity and Democracy states that their men seized control of the camp and took over all weapons and ammunition.
A year ago, in October 2021, the Djiboutian armed forces expelled by force most of the residents of this poor village (women, children, and old people) because they suspected them of supporting the FRUD: https://www.facebook.com/pressefad.fr/posts/
